High-Yield Dividend Stocks

Stocks currently yielding 6% or more — listed with the risk context a high yield demands.

A high yield is a price as much as a reward: the market charges less for cash flows it trusts less. Some names on this list are structures designed to distribute most of their income; others yield this much because their share price has fallen and the market is pricing in a possible cut.

That is why this page pairs the list with our rank score rather than sorting on yield alone at the top — the highest number on the page is rarely the most durable one.

Methodology

U.S.-listed common stocks in our coverage with a current yield of 6% or higher (computed from the latest regular payment, annualized, against the latest price; one-off specials excluded; yields our validation layer flags as data errors are suppressed site-wide). Ordered by yield, with DividendRank shown alongside.

What to Keep in Mind

Above roughly twice the market average, yield starts functioning as a warning: verify whether the payout grew or the price fell, and check coverage on each name's page. A yield that exists because the price collapsed is the classic yield-trap signature.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a high dividend yield?

Anything well above the large-cap average (~1.5–2%) deserves the label; this list starts at 6%. The higher above sector norms a yield sits, the more scrutiny the payout deserves.

Is a high dividend yield safe?

Not by itself. Yield rises mechanically when a share price falls, so a very high figure often reflects risk the market has already priced. Coverage and payment history — shown on each ticker page — are the relevant checks.
