Turning Point Brands, Inc., along with its affiliated companies, is engaged in the creation, promotion, and distribution of a diverse array of branded consumer products. Its operations are structured into three distinct divisions: Zig-Zag Products, Stoker's Products, and NewGen Products. The Zig-Zag Products division focuses on the marketing and distribution of rolling papers, cigarette tubes, pre-rolled cigars, 'make-your-own' cigar wraps, and related accessories, all sold under the well-known Zig-Zag brand. Conversely, the Stoker's Products division is responsible for manufacturing and commercializing moist snuff and loose-leaf chewing tobacco products. These are offered under several brand names including Stoker's, Beech-Nut, Durango, Trophy, and Wind River. The NewGen Products segment caters to individual consumers by marketing and distributing cannabidiol (CBD) isolate, liquid vapor items, and various other offerings free from tobacco and/or nicotine. This is achieved through its direct-to-consumer online platform, VaporFi, and its non-traditional retail outlet, VaporBeast. TPB's goods are supplied to a broad network of wholesale distributors and retail partners, encompassing independent and chain convenience stores, specialized tobacco shops, grocery stores, major retailers, and pharmacies. Originally established as North Atlantic Holding Company, Inc., the corporation adopted its current name, Turning Point Brands, Inc., in November 2015. Founded in 1988, Turning Point Brands, Inc. maintains its corporate headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Key Metrics

Current Yield

0.45%

The annual dividend as a percentage of the share price. A 3% yield is about $3 of dividends a year for every $100 invested at today's price.

Annualized Dividend

$0.3200

The most recent payment scaled to a full year by how often it's paid. A $0.25 quarterly dividend annualizes to $1.00.

Frequency

Q Quarterly

How often the dividend is paid: Q = quarterly (4x a year), M = monthly, S = semi-annual, A = annual.

Rank Score

41.4

Our 0-100 house score blending yield, payout safety, growth and momentum. Higher means a stronger profile on those factors in our model — a research score, not advice or a recommendation to buy.

RSI (14)

30

Relative Strength Index (0-100), a price-momentum gauge. Above 70 is often called 'overbought', below 30 'oversold'. A technical signal, not a dividend metric.

52-Week Range

$70.59 – $142.98

The lowest and highest price over the past year — shows where today's price sits in its recent range.

Payout Ratio

9.49%

The share of GAAP earnings paid out as dividends. Lower leaves more cushion; above 100% means paying out more than the company earns. It shows n/a for BDCs, REITs and funds, which pay out of cash flow / net investment income rather than GAAP earnings, so this ratio doesn't apply.

Years Paying

8

How many years of payments we have on record. This can understate very long histories where our data doesn't reach far enough back.

Price / Book

5.60

Price-to-book ratio: share price divided by book value per share. A rough valuation gauge, most useful for asset-heavy sectors like REITs, banks and insurers.

S.A.F.E. Dividend Read

S.A.F.E. is our quick durability read on a dividend — the same four-check test used across the screener and our ranked lists. Solid: the payout is well covered and the overall model profile is strong. Accelerating: the dividend has grown over time, not stalled. Flawless: an unbroken record with no cuts or suspensions. Enduring: a long enough paying history to weather a cycle. All four met earns the S.A.F.E. flag.
S Solid
Below the Solid check (model rank 70+ and yield 2%+): rank 41/100, yield 0.45%.
A Accelerating
8 consecutive years of dividend increases.
F Flawless
No dividend cut in the available payment record.
E Enduring
8 year(s) of payments on record, under the 20 this check looks for.

Why the Yield Moved (90 Days)

TPB's dividend yield rose from 0.38% to 0.45% over the past ~90 days (+0.07 pp). Of that move, +0.00 pp came from changes in the dividend rate and +0.07 pp from the share price ($83.73 → $71.51). A yield that rises because the price fell is not an improvement in the payout itself.
